Wanting to try yoga but not ready to jump into a group class? This introductory workshop will help new students feel comfortable and confident to begin their yoga practice. Yoga is for everyone! This includes all body-types and ages. This workshop will help students learn basic alignment that can be applied to every yoga pose including, injury management and modifications. We will also introduce the anatomy of breathing, connecting our breath and movement, and provide simple breathing exercises that can be used anywhere. The flow will be conversational, the pace chill, with opportunities to ask questions and quell fears. No prior yoga experience needed. Come wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing (layers are recommended). Please try not to eat or drink at least one hour before start time and plan on hydrating after class, not during. Mats and props will be provided.

When you are in a yoga class and the teacher invites you to set an intention, are you clear or do you have no idea what that even means? Have you ever wanted to try an inversion and you don’t even know what those are or where to begin? Or your mind starts racing? Come join me for an afternoon where we start off talking about setting intentions and moving through life with intentionality / both on and off the mat. We’ll warm our bodies up and still our minds with a yoga class and work our way towards inversions through prep and discussion and breaking down poses and using equipment in the room for support.

Restorative Yoga For Hips & Hamstrings

“How can I use yoga to for my tight hips & hamstrings?" You stretch and you stretch and you stretch and your hips and hamstrings still feel tight? It's not fair and it's frustrating. The reality is it's hard to counteract all the sitting we do, which tightens hamstrings, and the repetitive movement from walking and running that causes hips to feel tight. Let’s try approaching these areas with passive stretching. Using Restorative Yoga, practiced lying on the mat in long-held poses using blocks, bolster, and blankets, we will foster a place between over- and under-stretching, where you can let go of the pose, kind of get out of the way, and allow these areas to release on their own. A relaxing and loving approach to tightness. All Practitioners Welcome!! Teach your body when to be active and when to relax to increase performance, reduce stress, and heal.

“How can I use yoga to release my tight neck, wrists, and shoulders?” Our necks, shoulders, and wrists need a rest!! Everyday tasks, including using devices, carrying bags, and typing, are repetitive and load-bearing. Active stretches help, but let’s try taking the tightness and strain away with passive stretching. In Restorative Yoga we use long-held supportive poses so the body can open gently and deeply. It's a mushier way to interact with physical pain and restriction. All poses will be taught supine, lying on a mat, using yoga props to foster proper alignment and deep release. We will focus from the finger tips through the neck, muscles, and joints, with love and comfort. All Practitioners Welcome!! “How can I use yoga to help with my back pain?” Come release, relax, and renew your back with Restorative Yoga!!! A great way to let go of tension, holding, and stress. We will begin with breathing techniques to ease abdominal muscles, which help support the lower back and can cause pain when tight. Then we will use blocks, bolsters, and blankets to gently hold our bodies in supine, lying on the mat, yoga poses. Long and cozy holds will allow our bodies to release more deeply through feeling safe and supported. All Practitioners Welcome!!
